Each
March, the General Membership elects a board of directors
for N.O.R.E.I.A. The chosen board members then select committees
for each board member to oversee. It is not unusual for board
members to serve many terms, and for them to direct the same
committees during their service period.
N.O.R.E.I.A. is an open, evolving organization. We welcome new participation
on the board level. Board members are often some of the most experienced members
of the association, and they usually specialize in at least one investing technique.
Board members are not paid. Their service to the association is pro bono. They
can expect to donate approximately ten (10) hours a month to fulfill their respective
tasks.
Because of the time commitment involved, it is expected that a potential board
member will serve on a board subcommittee for at least a year before running
as a board member. This subcommittee work helps train the potential board member
into the duties, roles, and expectations of the board work.

Many
people who help the association by volunteering for different
subcommittees, though, have no aspiration for becoming a
board member some day. Many are just looking to give something
back and help out. Many are looking to work more closely
with the board member in charge of the subcommittee. Others
are just looking to earn some more NOREIA
Bucks.
Whatever the motivation, we welcome and ask for your
assistance on the subcommittee and/or board level. We are a completely volunteer
organization, and our dues are kept low because of the many men and women who
pitch in and help. We hope you will be one of them. Every little bit helps.
If you would like to serve on any committee, please contact the board member
responsible for that subcommittee, or contact any board member, for that matter.
We welcome your assistance. |
