Check Out Our Annual Events
Each year, the New Orleans Real Estate Investors Association holds periodic special events that are meant to provide additional value to our members through continued education or valuable networking opportunities. These are great ways to meet other members of our organization in a more casual setting in order to get to know one another better as well as learn from one another's experiences. These events range from networking cruises to city bus tours; and this page will highlight a few of these.
City Bus Tour:
Several times a year, we hold a city bus tour across the New Orleans metropolitan area where we take those in attendance to a variety of properties that are currently on the market. Once there, we walk through the property with an experienced general contractor and real estate agent to ascertain the current sales price of the property, the repair budget required for the property, and an estimate after repair value. We then use this value to evaluate this property as an investment and provide insight into how each property can be best utilized as an investment.
National REIA Cruise
Each year, the National Real Estate Investors Association holds a multi-night cruise that is designed as a combination networking and leisure activity. This event typically either embarks from Miami and sets sail through the Caribbean or embarks from Seattle and travels through Alaska, While at sea, this event fills each day with an assortment of optional conferences and educational activities that encompass a wide range of topics within the real estate facilitated through modes such as guest speakers and round table discussions. Nights at sea are free to continue networking with others or enjoy some of the leisure activities offered by the cruise ship. This event attractions REIA branches from across the country, allowing for the opportunity to meet investors from many markets. Days at port allows breaks in the education to explore the town we are docked in and participate in shore excursions that can range from hiking on glaciers to swimming with dolphins. As a member of NOREIA, this event is open to any of our members who wishes to attend.
NOREIA Annual Cruise
Starting in 2025, NOREIA will be running our own local cruise to Mexico that will be embarking from the New Orleans. These cruises will last 3-5 days and allow our members to get to know one another on a more personal level while getting a chance to explore a new part of the world. Some of the potential ports of calls that we would be able to visit are Cozumel and the Yucatan. As with the national cruise; this is meant to combinate networking with education as we will be organizing events meant to learn from one another and share our experience within real estate.
Annual Holiday Party
Each December, NOREIA hosts a holiday party for all our members that allows us to come together, get to know one another better, and reflect on another year finished. These are held at a variety of locations with this year schedule to be in the Degas House. Dinner is provided and we hold raffles that offers those in attendance to win a variety of prizes. This is a terrific opportunity to meet other members of our organization in a more relaxed atmosphere.
